In order to stop any back dated entry or Future entry in system (OR) to open current period so that transactions to be posted in that interval then ACCOUNT LOCK MODULE can be used. Its under Accounting Module -> Account Lock.

Steps to Perform:

Go to Accounting -> Account Lock -> Create New ( For First time creation ).

If its already created then Open the current record in Edit mode.

1. Lock Accounts Upto : Select a date until which users are not allowed to post any transactions in system. This is to stop any back dated entries in ERP.

2. Lock After Date : Select a date from which users are not allowed to post any transactions in ERP. This is to stop any future date transactions in ERP.

3. Role : If you want to assign a group of people who can post any transactions in the locked period also, then assign the role here. So which ever user has this role assigned, then they can post entry in system for any date.

If you want to block all roles so that they do not post any entries in the lock period then select Role = NA.

4. User : If you want to allow particular user to post any transactions in the locked period, then select the user from drop down. Now this selected user can post any entries in ERP including Lock Period. If you don't want to allow anyone, then select user = NA.

5. Click ADD.

Now later at any time if you want to update the duration or change any setting in this, click on the same transaction which is created and edit the fields as they are editable & click on SAVE or ADD.
